Privilege News March 2016

Thailand,
a Myriad of Choices

Sawasdee kha, and welcome to the latest edition of our monthly newsletter. March is the start of the summer season in Thailand and Thais welcome the hot summer months as it gives us a very good reason to go out and explore the outdoors. The country is rich with beautiful mountains in the north, fertile plains in the central regions and gorgeous beaches in the southern provinces. The idea is to go out and have fun, or in Thailand we call it ‘sanook’. And this can be done in so many ways. From zip lining above the forest canopy, to white water rafting and learning how to jet-ski in the Gulf of Thailand something is sure to catch your fancy. How about a round of golf in the hundreds of manicured championship courses around the country? Or sports fishing for small game or monster marlins? The Andaman coast is home to some of the world’s best diving spots teeming with tropical aquatic wildlife.

One other activity gaining popularity nowadays is outdoor concerts or music festivals held in parks within the capital or at popular destinations such as Khao Yai National Park or around the tranquil beach resort of Hua Hin. What makes these concerts more interesting are the army of vendors selling local delicacies as well as handicrafts and souvenirs. Thais love their music and have taken a liking to foreign musicians who come to perform in the country throughout the year. If you check the schedules you may find yourself in the country just in time for a great performance.
